The Fun(d)raising Committee
The Fundraising Committee is charged with planning and producing a variety of FUN and/or FUN$$ Raising events during the course of the year to help our congregation enjoy getting to know each other better, supporting worthwhile causes, reaching out to the larger community and supplementing the general fund. Some of the events raise money for causes other than the general fund. All of the events need your support.
Epicurean Events were first offered in 2004 as a component of that year’s auction catalog. They became a stand-alone event in 2005. Since that time, Emerson members and friends have opened up their homes and their cupboards with the goals of building relationships and raising money for the Emerson general fund.
Starting in 2008, musicians were invited to perform as a part of a 4-concert series. In 2008, the performing groups included the Atlanta Balalaika Society Orchestra, Atlanta Flute Choir, Emerson Drummers and the Emerson Choir. In 2009, the performances included the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus, Trey Wright Jazz Trio, the Atlanta Balalaika Society Orchestra and the Emerson Guitar Group. The 2010 Concert Series includes performances by bass-baritone Oral Moses, the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus’ ensemble Panache and others. Concerts planned for 2011 include "Jazzy American Songs" by 6 n' 88 + 4 on February 18th..."Broadway Comes to Emerson" on April 16th..."Homecoming Dance & Concert" by the Emerson Guitar Group in September and a mystery concert in October. Stay tuned for details on these and other events.

The Fun$$ Raisin' Committee will meet often this year as we have a very full calendar of events. Please consider volunteering to help out with events. Fun$$ Raisin' needs a publicity person to help develop and distribute advertising and public relations for our events this year. We want to reach out to the larger community as much as possible.
