Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education Program

The Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education Program is a comprehensive approach to human sexuality taught in an age-appropriate manner based firmly on the values of respect, responsibility, justice and inclusivity.

The course is designed to helps young people apply these values to their behavior and provides them with information and skills they can use throughout life. Youth programs include a comprehensive parent orientation. Programs are available for Kindergarten- 1st graders; 4-6 graders, 7-9th graders, 10-12 graders. Programming is also available for Young Adult and Adult curricula but is not offered at Emerson at this time. Emerson UU Congregation has ten trained, certified male and female Our Whole Lives adult facilitators who lead Our Whole Lives classes.

Class Schedule



K-1st Grade

Fall 2017; 8 Sundays mid-day (time TBD)

4th & 5th Graders

Parent and Student Orientation on Sunday, June 11, 2017 11:15am-2:00pm

Class Meets on June 12, 14, 19, 21 6:00-8:00pm

This class is for rising 4th and 5th graders or students who will enter 4th and 5th grade in the 2017-2018 school year.

7th-9th Graders

Sundays 12:45-2:00pm from Sept. 2016 through March 2017. 

10th-12th Grades

To be scheduled likely for 2017-2018 program year. Class will be on Sundays mid-day (time TBD). If interested, email Angela.

Student Registration

Emerson members will receive first priority for registration. If there are additional spaces available then these will be opened up to nonEmerson students on a first-come-first-serve basis.  

For the K-1st and 4th-6th grade classes, the target class size is approximately 10 students. For the 7th-9th grade and 10th-12th grade classes, the target class size is approximately 13 students. 

Please complete the OWL registration form to enroll your son/daughter in an OWL class.
