Religious Education Committee (REC)
Members of the Religious Education Committee work cooperatively with Emerson's paid staff Director of Religious Education for Children and Youth to lead key projects and programs while guiding our Children’s and Youth program.
The RE Committee makes policy and program recommendations to the Emerson UUC Board of Trustees and Minister in matters of children and families as well as acting as advocates for children and families in our Congregation and greater community.
Membership in the REC is open to Emerson members and friends who are willing to participate in monthly meetings and willing to volunteer for some RE projects, and work with Emerson's Director of RE, Beth Kline. Please email the RE Committee Chair if you are interested in the RE Committee.
The purpose of the RE Program is to prepare our children to live spiritually, responsibly, compassionately and intentionally in a complex world. Our efforts are driven by the vision of "awakening the soul and helping students become excited about and come to cherish spiritual life" while we guide and support children and families on their journey as lifelong Unitarian Universalists.
