Children's & Youth Religious Education

Thank you for visiting Emerson's Religious Education portion of this website. Most families visiting Emerson are looking for liberal faith "religious education" for their children; a dedicated place and time in the hustle and bustle of busy lives to intentionally shift into low gear; a place to explore “the Wonder” and learn about the rich Unitarian Universalist faith.

A 3rd grade boy in one of our RE classes said it best years ago. The teacher and students had a guided meditation activity while each student made their own miniature Zen Buddhist gardens.

“This is the first time in my life that I just was quiet and thoughtful.
It was so cool - can we do this next week too?"

Not every Sunday is a "Zen Garden" Sunday but the goal of all the experiences that our programs bring to families can be summed up in the Religious Education Program Vision Statement at Emerson UU Congregation... “To awaken the soul, excite and cherish spiritual life.”

We invite you to come visit Emerson UU Congregation in person soon!

DRE Director of Religious Education for Children & Youth.
