The Great Emerson Baking Show: Holiday Edition. Join us for a festive afternoon of cookie baking/candy making! We will have everything ready for you just to show up and bake. By the time we are finished we will have created batches of four different cookies/candies for everyone to share and take home. The fireplace will be crackling, the hot chocolate and savory snacks will be flowing, and the holiday music will be drifting as we work in groups to get all of the baking done together! The aim is to share a finalized list of several possible recipes with guests who are signed up by December 1st so that they can vote on the final four items.

Join the Thomas family for a dinner from Cajun country. Laid-back fellowship and cards will follow full bellies. Kids welcome. The meal: fresh tossed salad, chicken gumbo with rice, pickles, dessert, coffee and tea. The gumbo is gluten-free and not spicy. Other allergies can probably be accommodated, just ask.

Carbs, glorious carbs! Do you love pasta? We do! Especially when it is homemade served with a variety of delicious sauces and accompanied by some wonderful wine and even more wonderful friends! Join us for this fun filled night of pasta making (you get to join in) and pasta eating (there will be a variety of sauces) and some delicious sipping (we have a few favorite wines to share). And of course dessert we will top off our evening as we relax and each get to share stories and enjoy each other’s company.

Curious about how to create delicious vegetarian or vegan meals? Join Rev. Deborah in the kitchen to create a delicious meal featuring: Vegan Ginger Squash Soup, Rst. Vegetable Quinoa Bowl, Baked Tofu with Almond Sauce, Sautéd Kale with Pepitas Plus: Learn Rev. Deborah’s secret chai recipe and enjoy vegan key lime pie and gluten-free brownies with raspberry sauce. Bring a knife and cutting board and be prepared to wash, chop and cook!

Lunch at Millie’s house followed by a private tour with our own Millie through the High Art Museum. The tour will be personalized to your special interests and give you a peak behind the scenes of how the museum functions.  Arrange a mutually convenient time and date with Millie.

Are you a thespian?  Come join fellow Emersonians for an evening read of a 2-act play over appetisers, dinner, and dessert.  And even though this drawing room farce is set in New York during Prohibition, period libations will also be served!  Participants will receive a packet ahead of the event with their character profile and a prop or two to put you in the mood.  No acting experience required, only the ability to read and have fun!
